PREP A VEHICLE FOR CERAMIC COATING!

Motor Protek Ceramic Coating is designed in such a way that it bonds to the vehicle paint’s permanently to give permanent shine and protection to the paint. However, To attain optimum performance it is essential that the car surface is perfectly clean and smooth. It must also be completely free from waxes or other sealants, etc.

The better the prep, the better the results & durability.

The following method should be followed for the optimum and best results.

  • Wash the vehicle with a pH neutral shampoo, which all the car shampoos usually are. If not available, you may use a normal shampoo available at home. Mix a decent amount of shampoo in a bucket or a spray bottle and clean your vehicle with the same. This helps break down the decontaminants and make the vehicle silicon free and get free from embedded foreign material such as prior waxes, sealants, tree gums, tars and acids.
  • Wait for the vehicle to dry. Vehicle’s surface should be smooth when you touch it. Optionally, You may use a clay in case the surface of the vehicle’s surface is not smooth, which removes the embedded and sticky particles on the vehicle surface.
  • Third step is optional. This is the optimum method which detailing studios use. This is a paint correction step in the case where the vehicle has swirl marks and minor scratches. This require special tools like polishing machine (rotary or orbital polisher), along with cutting pads and polishing pads. Alternatively, you can get your car rubbed and polish from a detailer and ask them to use silicon free compounds, this should cost between INR 2000 and INR 3000.
  • The final and most essential step in the Ceramic Base Preparation using Isopropyl Alcohol Spray, which should ideally contain about 25% alcohol and rest water. This removed all the prior wax, polish, sealants that stick on the surface, and ensures that coating bonds to the surface of the paint. You can order it from Motor Protek site, which you do not need to dilute and use it straight away. Alternatively, you can buy it through and medical store or online (Amazon or Flipkart). It is also called Clinical Spirit. Please note, do not use 100% Concentrated Isopropyl Alcohol. Kindly dilute it with water in a ratio 25% Concentrated IPA to 75% Water.
